The Importance of Charity As Part Of Success

God loves a cheerful giver.  God has great rewards for people who are generous, on
earth and in heaven.

Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth;
You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.  Psalms 41:1-2 (NKJV)

He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, And He will pay back what
he has given.  Proverbs 19:17 (NKJV)

"But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind.
"And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be
repaid at the resurrection of the just."  Luke 14:13-14 (NKJV)

"Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which
do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief
approaches nor moth destroys.  Luke 12:33 (NKJV)

He who despises his neighbor sins; But he who has mercy on the poor,
happy is he.  Proverbs 14:21 (NKJV)

Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days.
Ecclesiastes 11:1 (NKJV)

He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness
endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor.  Psalms 112:9 (NKJV)

He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor.
Proverbs 22:9 (NKJV)

"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and
running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be
measured back to you."  Luke 6:38 (NKJV)

He who gives to the poor will not lack, But he who hides his eyes will have many curses.
Proverbs 28:27 (NKJV)

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God
loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7 (NKJV)

The fear of the wicked will come upon him, And the desire of the righteous will be granted.
When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, But the righteous has an everlasting
foundation.  Proverbs 10:24,25 (NKJV)

I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging
bread.  He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed.  Psalms 37:25-26 (NKJV)

If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And
your darkness shall be as the noonday.  Isaiah 58:10 (NKJV)

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living
God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.  Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing
to share,  1 Timothy 6:17-18 (NKJV)

Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you
see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?  Then your light shall break forth like
the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the
LORD shall be your rear guard.  Isaiah 58:7-8 (NKJV)

"And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the
widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the LORD your God may bless you in all
the work of your hand which you do.  Deuteronomy 14:29 (NKJV)

Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have
and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me."
Mark 10:21 (NKJV)

"Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no
reward from your Father in heaven.  "Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you
as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to
you, they have their reward.  "But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right
hand is doing, "that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward
you openly.  Matt 6:1-4 (NKJV)

"Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared
for you from the foundation of the world:  'for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me
drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;  'I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in
prison and you came to Me.'  "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and
feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?  'When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe
You?  'Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'  "And the King will answer and say to them,
'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
Matt 25:34-40 (NKJV)
