Children - A Story Of Success Or Failure?

There are countless promises in the bible concerning children. Some promises talk
about the negative side: children who go astray can be a terrible burden to bear.
But other promises talk about the positive side: children themselves are a blessing,
especially if reared with discipline and kindness. Success or failure in raising a family
partly depends on the parents.

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be
ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
Psalms 127:3-5 (NKJV)

Children's children are the crown of old men, And the glory of children is
their father. Proverbs 17:6 (NKJV)

He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him
promptly. Proverbs 13:24 (NKJV)

Chasten your son while there is hope, And do not set your heart on his

The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame

Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not

Do not withhold correction from a child, For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.
