We all have enemies as we go through life. As Christians, the bible tells of stories where people were killed because they believed in Jesus. You have any belief for that matter, it will create enemies. Take a look at politics...one side seems to hate the other. We have to be very careful about how we respond to people who hate us. The bible promises us comfort and protection from our enemies and gives us a command on how to deal successfully with your enemies. It will surprise you... see last verse on this page.
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The LORD is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me. But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the LORD shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him. Psalms 37:39-40 (NKJV)
Through God we will do valiantly, For it is He who shall tread down our enemies. Psalms 60:12 (NKJV)

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. "For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? "And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:43-48 (NKJV)
