Forgiveness - A Key To A Rewarding And Successful Life

Forgiveness can be challenging. As Christians, the message is clear...God forgave us and we need
to forgive others. Not forgiving others will cost you dearly. Even if you're in the right
and the other person has not show any remorse whatsoever...you should forgive
them and let go. I know of people that literally got sick because they did not let go of
their anger. I remember a situation where I was so upset for a period that affected by
attitude in all areas of my life. I finally ask God to help me and it was amazing...a big
heavy weight lifted of my shoulders and guess what...the situation resolved itself. It's
a lesson I never forgot.

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, And his glory is to
overlook a transgression. Proverbs 19:11 (NKJV)

Do not say, "I will recompense evil"; Wait for the LORD, and He will save
you. Proverbs 20:22 (NKJV)

Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:7 (NKJV)

"But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your
right cheek, turn the other to him also. "If anyone wants to sue you and
take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. "And whoever compels
you to go one mile, go with him two. "Give to him who asks you, and from
him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away. Love Your Enemies.
"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate
your enemy.' "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse
you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use
you and persecute you, "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven;
for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on
the just and on the unjust. "For if you love those who love you, what reward have you?
Do not even the tax collectors do the same? "And if you greet your brethren only, what
do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Matthew 5:39-47 (NKJV)

"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against
another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. Colossians 3:13 (NKJV)

"Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents,
forgive him. "And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns
to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him." Luke 17:3-4 (NKJV)
