Honesty - Key To Long Term Success Or Eventual Failure

Most people feel that they are pretty honest, however, they also feel that little white
lies are O.K.   Sometimes we lie to not offend people.  Sometime we lie not to reveal
to much about ourselves.  Despite our best intentions, lies are lies, and the Bible is
clear on this subject.

Take the good person test.

'You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.  Leviticus 19:11 (NKJV)

Are there yet the treasures of wickedness In the house of the wicked, And
the short measure that is an abomination?  Shall I count pure those with the
wicked scales, And with the bag of deceitful weights?
Micah 6:10-11 (NKJV)

"You shall do no injustice in judgment, in measurement of length, weight, or
volume.  Leviticus 19:35 (NKJV)

Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, But a just weight is His
delight.  Proverbs 11:1 (NKJV)

"You shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure, that
your days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD your God is
giving you.  "For all who do such things, all who behave unrighteously, are
an abomination to the LORD your God.  Deuteronomy 25:15-16 (NKJV)

The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives.
Psalms 37:21 (NKJV)

That no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the
Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified.  For God did not
call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.  1 Thessalonians 4:6-7 (NKJV)

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on
the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
Colossians 3:9-10 (NKJV)

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do
so.  Proverbs 3:27 (NKJV)

'And if you sell anything to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor's hand, you shall not
oppress one another.  Leviticus 25:14 (NKJV)

'Therefore you shall not oppress one another, but you shall fear your God; for I am the LORD
your God.  Leviticus 25:17 (NKJV)

He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, He who despises the gain of oppressions, Who gestures with his
hands, refusing bribes, Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, And shuts his eyes from seeing evil:  He will
dwell on high; His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; Bread will be given him, His water will be sure.
Isaiah 33:15-16 (NKJV)

Better is a little with righteousness, Than vast revenues without justice.  Proverbs 16:8 (NKJV)
