Parents have a tough job today in raising their kids. Based on some opinion we should have the government raise our kids. That's a scary though if you take a look at what's being taught in schools today. Even if you think that the schools are doing a good job in raising out kids, the bible is clear that parents have a duty in being part of raising their kids.
There are some wisdom for kids as well that they might want to pay attention to.
"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you. Exodus 20:12 (NKJV)
As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. Psalms 103:13-14 (NKJV)
For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights. Proverbs 3:12 (NKJV)
Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)
Do not withhold correction from a child, For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. You shall beat him with a rod, And deliver his soul from hell. Proverbs 23:13-14 (NKJV)
And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4 (NKJV)
We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. For He established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children; That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children, That they may set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments; And may not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that did not set its heart aright, And whose spirit was not faithful to God. Psalms 78:4-8 (NKJV)
