Failure is something we all face. Sometimes it happens because of our own mistakes (usually in my case), and sometimes it happens outside of our control. It can happen in any area of your life, business or personal.
No matter why it happens, failure can be devastating…and usually is. I've been there. In fact, I've had many setbacks. That's what I call them, “setbacks.” It's never a complete failure unless you throw in the towel and quit. Actually, some setbacks (failures) can turn out to be incredible blessings.
Now, when I mention my own failures – I’m not talking about little disappointments. I’m talking about total disasters! You think I’m kidding? Have you ever invested everything you have into a business idea that crashed so royally that you and your wife were raiding quarters out of your earthquake kit? Didn’t think so. Well, I have…and other ones too that I won’t go into now.
One thing that helped me get through such devastating chapters in my life is my faith in God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ. Did you know that God cares for you in good and in bad times? He is the comforter. And He has a way out or through it for you…if you are willing to listen and wait for His answer. You don’t have to, of course. He’ll let you handle it your own way if that’s what you want.
Did you know that he knows the number of your hair on your head? You might ask...if he loves me why does he let me go through this. Check out our Trials section for the answer.
Definition of Failure: (by Wikipedia): Failure refers to the state or condition of not meeting a desirable or intended objective, and may be viewed as the opposite of success. Product failure ranges from failure to sell the product to fracture of the product, in the worst cases leading to personal injury, the province of forensic engineering.
Failure in Business: I have an entrepreneurial spirit and I can count several great successes in business. However, I can count even more failures. Actually, I've learned more from my failures than successes. If I can give you just one piece of advice, it's this - - never give up on your dream! You might find out that one or two ideas don't pan out......that's OK...just keep trying.
Failure Support: What are you supposed to do when life throws you a curve ball? After going through many of life's challenges, I can tell you with confidence that the best thing to do is to ask God. Don’t know how? I suggest you have someone pray with you. God set it up so that we all need each other…no shame in that. Pride can be the biggest thing holding you back.
