When you start out learning about advertising and marketing, it is easy to try to bite off more than you can chew.  It can happen to even to most esperienced.  In other words, you try to learn too many advertising and marketing strategies at the same time.  What can happen is that you get overwhelmed at the prospect of having to learn too many marketing strategies at the time and you end up learning none well.  Plus, if you take on too many marketing techniques at a time, you are less likely to put them into practice.  You will also not do what it takes to make each method work. Just realize that learning each of these techniques will take a little time.

To avoid this problem, I recommend to take on one marketing strategy at a time.  Instead of trying to learn video marketing, social networking, article marketing, etc. all at once.  I would recommend focusing your attention at learning one thing at a time. Say to yourself…”this month I will learn and put into practice video marketing, etc.”.  Get an overall understanding of that subject…make some notes…make your own step by step outline…and then give it a try and put it into practice.  The good news is that my marketing training site takes a 50 page e-book on a subject and gives you a reader’s digest version, focusing on the most important parts of each marketing strategy, so you can learn the basics of each marketing technique within a very short period of time.  There will be additional marketing and advertising techniques you will learn as you put your newfound knowledge to work of course…it a never-ending process.  I learn something almost every day.
Bottom line, focus, focus, focus on just one marketing strategy at a time.  And then finally, put your new learned marketing skills into practice.  I see so many people who join the training call every week and never implement what they have learned.  Pleople say…”wow Peter, how did you get to the # 1 spot with the keyword “Online Marketing Training” in Google, etc?  All I do is put what I teach into practice…that’s all.  It can work for you too.  Let make it happen!

This powerful keyword suggestion tool is my favorite tool.  It tells you how much traffic a keyword is getting each month.  It also tells you what other keywords are related and how much traffic they are getting.  I’m working on a new website that deals with successes and failures in life.  I was researching the word Adultery and it was getting 246,000 searches per month.  I also found out the the word affair was getting 2,240,000 searches.  I hope you can see the power of such a tool.  I love it…enjoy!

UPDATED LINKS BELOW!

While I do recommend the concept of pinging, I would also recommend a plugin called “cbnet Ping Optimizer” to prevent over pinging…which could be considered spam.

How do you get to have Google find and index your web or blog pages faster you might asked?  Let me introduce you to the power of the PING.

Pinging your site just makes the search engines aware that you have new content.  If you have a blog via WordPress, you have a pinging service integrated into the site under settings…writing.  So every time your blog has a new blog or comment, it sends out a ping to tell the search engines that you have new content.  It usually comes with about 10 – 20 links.  You can add additional pinging sites like these.  Make sure that you eliminate duplicates so it only pings each site once.  you can just paste your links into Excel and then sort them…and then eliminate any duplicates.  Today, we’ll just focus on links you can integrate into your blog.  On the next update, we’ll talk about pinging your website…so make sure you keep this link for updates.  Hope this helps.

There are many things you can do to get indexed fast on search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Bing and others.  One of the best way to do that is with the technique of pinging.  Last time I talked about pinging your blogs and how by adding the pinging URL’s tells these websites that you have new content, but what do you do for your non blog sites.

There are several pinging services where you can ping your website, your blogs, your social bookmarking sites and more.  Here are just some.

Feel free to comment with additional pinging services you have found.

Enjoy!

Sitemap Submission is one of the most important elements of SEO tactics.  Without creating and submitting a sitemap for your website or blog, it will take much longer for search engines to find you.  Once you have created a sitemap, you can submit it to the following links below.  Make sure you replace the “your website” part with your URL.

You can paste the link into a document, change out the URL and than just click on each link when you have updated your sitemap.  This will notify the search engines that you have new content…pretty simple.

Submit to Ask.com
