Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand. In John 6: 5-13 we read:
5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.
7 Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages[a] to buy enough bread for each one to have

Death is a stimulant-motivator that moves us toward Christ Jesus.

We are not asked by our parents to come into this world.  We are not informed about coming into the world consisting of pain, suffering, hurt, some happiness, death, illnesses, disorders, etc. It is impossible to return to our mothers’ wombs.  Some existentialists would argue this is a reason human beings must exercise their freedom to make decisions by making choices that are egocentric.  Because we were not given freedom to

Forgiving Sin…

Forgiving SinSalvation (being forgiven) is found in no one else, for there is no other name (Lord Jesus) under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

“Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to

Victory over Death…

Victory over deathWho can live and not see death, or who can escape the power of the grave? Psalm 89:48

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign Lord (Jesus) comes escape from death. Psalm 68:19-20

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For

How Can I Forgive?

I am no longer angry at the person
I no longer experience resentment (re-living the negative emotions associated with the person/event)
I give up all claim to punish the person for the offence

What Does Forgiveness Look Like?

Forgiveness can be messy, it is a process. It involves healing of brokenness; it involves words, actions, and emotions. Forgiveness is rarely an all or nothing affair, and it can be

The Lord is faithful

Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. (2Thessalonians 3:1-2)

Paul was writing to the Thessalonians asking for prayer so that good news of Jesus Christ would spread swiftly and would be received by all. Paul felt that we had a short time before the Lord would come back;

Do you feel rejected? Unwanted? Lonely? That you’re just not good enough?

You may be one of those individuals who throughout your life has been told that you’re just not good enough.

Maybe your parents called you “stupid” or asked why couldn’t you be like your brother or sister – or even the neighbor’s kid.  Your parents may have even thrown you out and told you to never come back.

You could be an orphan because your mom abandoned you at childbirth and no one has adopted you.  Your whole life has been in

The Best Brand

A group of my workmates attended a training seminar in the West Midlands, England. Having consumed vast quantities of tea, coffee and biscuits they were asked by the organizers of the seminar to participate in an ice-breaking exercise. The ice-breaking exercise involved each worker identifying and writing down the name of companies to brand names. After an hour of the ice-breaking exercise most of the workers were able to name at least 50 percent of companies to the brand names

A Treasure Money Can’t Buy…

TreasureBlessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she (wisdom) is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Proverbs 3:13-15

Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Proverbs 4:5-6

… indeed, if you call out (to God) for insight

Distracted from the Bigger Picture

An elderly woman turned to a fellow passenger who was sitting on the bus beside her and said,”Did you see the horrific car accident.”
The passenger replied,”No. I was far too busy reading the evening newspaper to have notice that.”
The passenger worked all hours of the day to build up an successful business and he was on his way home. When he arrived home there was a note from his wife pinned to the kitchen table. The note read,”Don’t
