The Widow’s oil

The Widow was in  extreme poverty. She had nothing but a jar of oil (2 King 4:1-7). There was nothing of value left in the house but a jar of oil. Her husband had died and the creditors wanted to take her sons into slavery. She had already lost the love of her life and was about to lose the most precious of God’s blessings, her children when Elisha turned up on time.

Some commentators have suggested that she and her

Our Life Under the Sun

Our Life under the sunFrom one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. Acts 17:26-27

King Solomon said … then I saw all that God

I am not alone

I wish you were alive and still on this earth Lord so that I could be with you in the flesh. I need you to comfort me with real arms and wipe the tears of my past away. Help me put away the anguish and pain that follows me like a cloud. I know you are in my heart loving me as a father to a daughter

Apple’s latest watch – God’s deep knowledge

… it’s all about YOU!

Apple Watch - God's Knowledge

The idea of “being watched” by a compassionate God is not new. As Christians, every Sunday we rightly sing of God’s care and invite his watchfulness. Not everything will go our way; there may be days, years through which we feel afflicted, and yet we trust the God who knows us and watches us – at our best as well as our worst.

Choose to walk with God

Choose to walk with GodYour word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures. Psalm 119:89-90

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105

“To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it. Choose my instruction instead of silver knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more

Don’t Throw in the Towel

Sam felt like throwing in the towel into the ring. He just couldn’t face another day of the same. Nothing seems to ever change. Sam was juggling jobs to make ends meet. He managed by a whisker of a hair to keep his head above water. Sam was feeling a little downhearted and a bit depressed too until a friend from his church had encouraged him to read God’s words. He had neglected the reading of His words and he

God’s Grace is more than Enough

God's grace is more than enoughPraise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,  1 Peter 1:3-4

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in

He’s got your back

In the past whatever you had touched turn into gold. The wife, the job, the house, the children and holidays all fell into place. They weren’t in that specific order. You know what I mean. But, you had never wanted for anything. You’ve been there and worn the t-shirt. God was good  to you in the good times. But, do you know that God is good to you  in the bad time too and He

A Tale of Two T-shirts

107_3634If you can think of it, design it, and put it in a .jpg file, you can put it onto a t-shirt.

This past week, I saw two t-shirts that caught my attention

One said, “PARTY, SLEEP, REPEAT.” It is a sad mantra of many. I say, “sad,” because it does not bring true happiness, joy, and contentment. Sure, it sounds like a fun lifestyle and probably is for a while, but in
