Be the Change You Want to See
Most people are afraid of change. The usual routine and the usual way of living has become safe for them. However, without change we are stuck, stagmant, “in a rut.” We are living by rituals, habits, and traditions, which leads us nowhere. This is far from the abundant life that God promises in John 10:10 (nasb): ”The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
Samuel Rodriguez** explains it this way in his book, Path of Miracles: the 7 Life Changing Principles that Lead to Purpose and Fulfillment,
“Instead of asking God for things to change, we should be asking ourselves these questions: Am I changing the world? Am I leaving an imprint? Am I doing good? Am I doing justice? Am I helping others? The true power of change is within us. We are the power of change. So don’t continue to pray (saying) ‘Lord please change the things around me.’ We need to pray (saying) ‘Change me so I can (be the one to) change those things.’ “
Don’t you want your legacy to be that you made the world a better place?
“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
– Mahatma Gandhi, Indian political and spiritual leader
