Character of God

Grasping our Father’s Hand

The stars are shining in the sky but the hidden secrets that we do not see are the nuggets that we need to learn while grasping our Father’s hand. Climbing that mountain finding my hands and feet holds clasping the sides of the mountain and whispering a prayer “Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world” I can do this thing. “I will not be afraid of ten thousand people who set themselves against me.” Everything around me that is hindering me is disappearing in front of me. The crowds of people the hawking faces looking to see what you’re doing all are disappearing. Now, I only see my Father’s hand reaching out to grasp my hand. I look up into His eyes and His eyes are lit up the purest of blue that sparkles like gems. My Father’s lips are cast in a permanent curve up and are always present for me.  The stress in my body has gone now I am hook up to my lifeline. The mountain has become a boat ride across a calm river with my Father rowing the boat.

The journey thus far has been crazy with the running away, surrendering control, dying to self, and now rising from the ashes to claim what the Lord has for me.

How long did I think I could stay away from the Lord? Life really sucks when you are not doing what the Lord designed for you to do. You might say you are happy but are you really? I thought I was but I was harboring resentment towards my Father in heaven. I thought my life so far was His fault. My childhood abuse and my later marriage were His fault for not coming to my rescue. I believe that fairy story about the knight in shining amour but that’s not reality. I wanted the Lord to rescue me from my predicaments and set me free in my way and not His way. My limitations on Him cause me to hate Him. That is when I found myself on a road that was hard and winding and it was not leading anywhere near the Lord and His plan for me. I was wallowing in self-pity that wasn’t honoring my Lord. I was still going to church and having a Bible study and living a life that I thought was devoted to God. Inside my heart I was bleeding and I was dying little by little. I did not know how to tell anyone what was happening because of the shame. The feeling of  being dirty and ashamed of my thoughts and actions kept me silent.

Eventually, my running away stop and I faced my biggest challenge so far in my life and that was surrendering my control and giving it to God. My life spiral out of control and I was seeing a counselor. The road trip was my fault the choices I made were my choice. My pains of the choices of others were not the Lord’s fault. My choice of holding on to it was my fault.

Shame would follow me through my running away, surrendering control, dying to self, and final to rising from the ashes.

Romans 8:1, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…”
Far too many believers are feeling dirty, worthless and ashamed of themselves. As a result, they feel unclean and therefore unworthy to approach God and have the living and intimate relationship that He wants to have with them! Shame prevents us from intimacy with God because it makes us feel unworthy and distant from Him. I have found that God died on the cross taking my shame and worthlessness nailing it to the cross so I will never ever feel ashamed again.  He washes me in HIS blood leaving me white as snow. The Lord came and healed my body of the sin afflicted on me. Today, I want to share my story so others can find the hope of Jesus Christ.  Books that help me during my long journey to self discovery:

This Is Not “The Gift”

There are gifts and there are “gifts”. What makes a gift more valuable? Well, many things if you ask me. Firstly the timing is crucial; of what use is a gift given after the occasion of celebration; the relevance of the “cadeau” (gift in French) is useless. The giver also is of great importance. I am not yet married yet but a lot of my friends are; I’ve met with couples who during anniversaries have presented pretty old ITEMS which they explained as certain gift(s) given to them by their spouse in the early days of their relationship. The recipients treasured those items basically not because of it’s economic worth; but they value it because of the giver. You hear words like; “this necklace was given to me my great grandmother and now; it’s yours.” Furthermore; let’s not forget something absolutely crucial too; “THE INTENT” Why was the gift given; or why did you give the GIFT. No gift is given without an intention. Whether to persuade , show appreciation or make a plea. There’s always a reason behind every given GIFT. A few days ago a special lady friend of mine celebrated her birthday; for some reasons…I could not get her a gift on the precise date. I felt an indignation for my inability to perform what I thought to be a DEED to show an utmost GRATITUDE to her for she had been greatly helpful in the attainments of some of my goals. So what did I do? A good question…I sent her another gift…What I call a CONSOLATION gift; within the gift I wrote these words “This is not “the gift” . Clearly she must have been impressed by the token gift for in her response she keenly pleaded with me to not send another. Well….Do you know that that is precisely how some of us are with our heavenly FATHER? So you just got a seemingly greatly JOB and any thought about leaving it is simply an impossibility even if it were words from THE ALMIGHTY himself. How we BE LITTLE GOD! He is the monarch of the universe yet we humiliate him, He is the maker of the whole world yet we give Him little or no credence. The weight of the pain inflicted in God’s heart is unfathomable to the human mind. Of course, we as God’s children do not commit this act deliberately, no we don’t. However, in our walk with the father, A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE IN NOT AN EXCUSE. In reality, it is even destructive. Hosea 4:6 My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me. Since you priests refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children. Another translation says: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children” There is so much more in papa God than you could ever imagine; so you would be short changing yourself by stopping HERE! Don’t even be contented with with where you are now…because God’s not through with you yet… Jeremiah 32 vs 27 says: Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me? This is the almighty Himself speaking. I made all flesh; tell me what more I that I cannot do? The only one who can answer that question is one who declares himself bigger and greater than God. Let’s also examine another striking scripture Gen 18 vs 14 “ Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son” Sarah was contented with the child from her slave; she asked herself ; “WHAT COULD BE MORE” If He gave you a used car… He can give you brand new; if he could give a brand new car; He could give you a CAR FACTORY! There is always a bigger picture with God my people. You’ve got to see that big picture to fully utilize your divine potentials in order to fulfill your calling and ministry. Your fulfillment in this life is not tied to money…it’s not tied to your academical achievements…No! If you are like me. A man; who is set to leave an indelible mark in the sand of times…then you don’t want to play with this divine insight and revelation. For with God nothing shall be impossible Luke 1 vs 37,no matter how big that gift in your hand is, it is not everything God has in mind for you. There is more. Dare to believe and you will never be the same person ever again. God bless you.

If Jesus is God, then why scriptures say Son of God?

We know that Jesus Christ is God and man. Jesus Christ is God in human flesh (II Corinthians 5:19). Isaiah said, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14).” Immanuel meaning “God IS WITH us. John tells us in John 1:1-4, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.”

Jesus is repeatedly called “the Son of God” and also “the Son of Man”. Mary was used of God as the host to bring forth the body of Jesus’ humanity. Jesus had no human father. When the angel told Mary that she would conceive and have a son, she replied, “How shall this be, seeing I know not a man (Luke 1:31-34)?” The angel responded by saying, “The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God (Luke 1:35).” the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:20). The Annunciation begins “the fullness of time” (Gal 4:4). Mary conceived Jesus the eternal Son of the Father in a humanity drawn from her own in whom the “whole fullness of deity” dwells “bodily.” (Col 2:9).

Jesus as a man had a human mother, but God was His father, hence he was called “Jesus the Son of God”. Although Jesus was a fully human person, he also was and is fully God. Philippians 2:6 makes it clear that he is God, and that he set aside the use of some of his attributes to take on the form of the human, and die for the sins of the world. Titus 2:13 equates Jesus with God. Romans 9:6 describes him as God, who is blessed forever. And in Revelation 5:13 and 14 portray Christ as deity.

The Father is God (John 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Peter 1:2). The Son is God (John 1:1, 14; Romans 9:5; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 5:20). The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16).

All men are sons of God because we are His offspring (Acts 17:28), descendants from Adam (Luke 3:38). God’s people are adopted “sons of God,” Jesus is the only Son of God by nature (Rom. 8: 14-16). The spiritual relationship of Christ to the Father is not like the physical relationship men have with their sons (Isaiah 55:8, 9).

Only accept by faith through His word that Jesus is both God and with God; He is both God and the Son of God. As God, He is worthy of our worship and adoration. The Father is designated as Lord(Mt 11.25)and also as God(1 Cor 8.6).The Son is designated as Lord(Rom 15.6 )as well as as God (Titus 2.13, Heb 1:8). The Holy Spirit is designated as Lord (2 Cor 3.17) as well as The Holy Spirit is designated as God(Acts 5.3-4). There is only one God in the Old Testament and Jesus is God in the flesh in the New Testament (John 1:1,14). God, The Spirit of God and Jesus Christ are the One and Only True God. THE HOLY Spirit is seen as GOD in the old testament (Ezekiel 36:27, Ezekiel 37:14). God gives the Spirit of God into the hearts of man and leads, guides and helps them to obey the commandments of God (2 Co 3:17). It is clear that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are each God. Jesus, who not only is eternally in God, but is himself eternally God. Word ‘begotten’ is used of Jesus, who is the Son of God. Jesus, being in God and himself God, has no beginning and has no end. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in him all things consist” (Col.1:15-17).

Conclusion: God is infinite and we are finite and our abilities and intellects are limited. For anyone who perverts the word of God here there is warning “For ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God” (Jeremiah 23:36).”

Word of Wisdom

Words of WisdomWords of Wisdom …

The works of his (God’s) hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy. They are established for ever and ever, enacted in faithfulness and uprightness. He provided redemption for his people; (he made a way for us to be forgiven) he ordained his covenant forever—holy and awesome is his name. Psalm 111:7-9

The fear of the LORD (reverence for God) is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One (Jesus) is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 (Paul writes) My goal is that they (believers) may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2-3 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Proverbs 2:10 (Jesus said) For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” (of your life) John 6:40 AMEN!!!

Nuggets of Wisdom … spread the Word

Is nuclear power safe where disasters happen like the Japanese earthquake and tsunami? Or anywhere?

The recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan has raised fears. This is not only because – until the last decade and the awful Indian Ocean one – the word “tsunami” was rarely mentioned. Nuclear power has also come under scrutiny, with worries now even about rain water.

Some claim that a major North American quake is imminent, while others are more worried about the present – after all, people have been saying one was imminent for years now.

In one way, nothing can be considered totally safe. While people don’t slip on banana peels like in the cartoons every day, enough accidents happen in our work places, transportation, and other things that we can say with certainty that anything can happen. However, what most people are concerned with is the probability of nuclear accidents – and they claim that the probably is too great.

A closer look reveals, however, that there are quite a few nuclear plants that have never had an accident. Is it a good idea to build a plant right on a fault line? No. However, with so many earthquakes happening in different places, places where there have not been quakes for a long time and where scientists rarely expect them – exactly as Jesus predicted in Matthew 24 – without an understanding of the future, without knowing what will take place, one is left with only doubt and worry.

Do we have to live this way, though? Of course not. There is an alternative.

Jesus didn’t just predict earthquakes in diverse places. He predicted wars and rumors of wars, many false Messiahs, and other things. He predicted they would increase in severity, as they have – just like birth pangs. Jesus also promised that He would protect His people.

This protection is not protection from things of this world, of course. He says in John 16:33, “In this world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” We might be protected from evil in this world, of course; but this is a sinful, fallen world that was created to be perfect, only to have people corrupt it through their free choice.

“Choices,” you might say, “like using nuclear power?” Maybe, maybe not. That is for each of us to decide on our own. However, the fact that Japan did not immediately suffer a Chernobyl-style disaster after several major system failures shows that it can be pretty safe unless the most *severe* of natural disasters occurs.

More to the point is the fact that human choices have thrown this world into chaos. Whether or not you consider nuclear power to be one, you have to admit things are pretty bad int his world. Thankfully, there is a way to have peace.

God’s Word calls it the “peace that passes understanding,” and says that we shouldn’t worry (be “full of care”) about things but that with everything by prayer and supplication we should make our requests known to God. (Philippians 4:6-7) Even in the midst of this incredible turmoil, people can have peace. How?

See, we’ve all made bad choices. No, we haven’t all done things that have led to many people suffering, but we have all sinned, and come short of the glory of God. See, we’ve all said, thought, or done things that cause us to fall short of God’s mark of perfection. We’d love to have a perfect world, but sadly, we have all gone astray and turned each one to his own way. And, the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6)

In other words, God did send a Messiah, someone to save the world. He came Himself, in form of a man. He had a job to do at His first coming, though; that was to take the punishment for all of our sins. He did this when He died on the cross and rose from the dead the third day.

It doesn’t help just to know those facts, though. You have to make it personal. See, you, like me and everyone else, wants justice, right? Someday, there will be justice for everyone. That justice will come when God looks on us and sees one of two things.

Each one of us has sinned, and that causes us to fall short of the glory of God. So, that means we must be born again, because the way we were born the first time, we were born sinners. Each person msut call on Jesus Chrsit to come and save them by changing them on the inside.

That way, God can see a person who has been changed. It is a person for whom Christ died, the just for the unjust. When He sees that, he knows the debt for that person has been paid.

When Jesus comes into a person’s heart, He gives peace. Sometimes they will fail, of course. I know I was probably overly worried about the Gulf oil spill last year, but I still knew Jesus could take care of it, and He did. The ecosystem is damaged, but not nearly as badly as it could have been. Had I kept my eyes on Jesus totally, I would have had perfect understanding. However, nobody can do that all the time, because we are sinner. We still have that sin nature.

Jesus saves us from the punishment for sin, though, and then He saves us from the power of sin, so that when we are tempted, we can turn to Him for help.

Thankfully, one day, Jesus will save us from the very presence of sin.

Is nuclear power safe? Probably. The chances of the accident that happened occurring again are faine. However, there will be a major earthquake at the end of the Tribulation period that makes the Japan one seem small by comparison. However, at that point, everything will be shaken, and a nuclear disaster will be the least of mankind’s worries.

Don’t think it can’t happen – this last earthquake moved a whole island several feet! And, it also moved the planet’s axis slightly!

Do, however, realize you can be safe in the arms of Jesus just by calling on Him by faith to save you from your sins and by repenting, letting Him change you on the inside. For if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Don’t put it off. Yes, we could be safe from another one for a long while. But, we also know that anything can happen. The Bible says today is the day of salvation. And, the way to avoid worrying is by knowing your futgure is secure in Jesus, through believing that His death and resurrection for you personally, and calling on Him to save you from your sins.

Conclusion: “From there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29) .

People who try to come to God without accepting Jesus Christ as the way to God are deceiving themselves and they often try to deceive others also. Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, (1st Timothy 4:1-2)

Thank you Jesus for all the souls you have saved throughout the generations. Please continue to open the hearts and eyes of your children to seek your truth with all their heart and soul! Amen. (1 Timothy 2:3-4).

Fix your eyes on Jesus

Fix your eyes on JesusIsaiah 61:1-2a … (written around 800 years before Jesus was born)

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. (poor in spirit) He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives (of sin) and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor

Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him. He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: (Is. 61:1-2a)

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”  Luke 4:14-21

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:2

Emergence of Day and Night (part three)

When is the Dawn of a New Day

Most people, including myself at some point in time, were taught to believe that a day starts in the evening, and ends either at midnight, and to the Sabbath observers  at  sunset. But when does a day truly begins?
Despite the fact that, God created lights in the firmament of the heavens, to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years, man  rather disregard, and pay little, or no respect to those natural things, which God has ordained to fulfill his purpose, and choose to hold tenaciously, to what sinful man has established.

I do not think it is that difficult for anyone to prove, that the sun was created to rule the day, and therefore it is the sun that heralds the new day; and the moon was created to rule the night, and to herald the dawn of a new month, since every New Moon is the dawn of a new month.

But instead of following the patterns established by God, man has chosen to despise, and reject the way God ordained to count days, months, and years, and have instead adopted the system, established by the Fourth Beast, mentioned by Daniel in his vision.

Daniel’s interpretation of the fourth beast is that, it is, “The fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, trample it and break it in pieces.”
This beast or kingdom according to Daniel, shall have ten horns, which  are, “Ten kings who shall arise from this kingdom, and another shall arise after them; he shall be different from the first ones, and shall subdue three kings.’

“He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time” (Daniel 7:23-25).

When is the Beginning of a New Day

Some people are so naive, and fearful of rocking the boat, and challenging the status quo, and to stop following the customs and traditions of men, are suspicious of anyone, who is attempting to bring the truth to light, and perceive them as self-seeking individuals, who is trying to change the world.
Make no mistake, the world cannot be changed, it is in vain for anyone to attempt doing it. The world is on a collision course which cannot be stopped, and the only solution is to follow the Lord’s warning which says; “…Come out of her, my people, lest you receive of her plagues; for her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities” (Revelation 18:4-5).

Now since we all know in part, and prophesy (teach) in part, we should have an open mind, and be willing to change, whenever truth presents itself. Because one thing is sure, any thesis, or theory established on a false premise, will definitely collapse, when comes face to face with the truth.

Having said this, Let us now look at the evidences which points to exactly when a day truly begins. Let us begin with the  creation. It is stated that, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).

According to the book of Isaiah chapter 45:18, God created the earth to be inhabited. “For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens, who is God, who formed the earth and made it, who has established it, who did not create it in vain, who formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord and there is no other.”

The Lord in revealing his omnipotence to Job said; “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

So beautiful was the earth at its original creation, all the sons of God shouted for joy,  but unfortunately, this beautiful creation we are told, “Became without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep…”(Genesis 1:2).

The rebellion and fall of Lucifer, as recorded in the fourteenth chapter of Isaiah, and the 28th chapter of Ezekiel respectively, brought destruction to the face of the earth, which necessitated the Spirit of God to hover over the face of the waters, and renew the face of the earth, as stated in Psalms 104:30 saying; “You send forth your Spirit, they are created; and you renew the face of the earth.”

The renewal of the earth therefore began when God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light, and God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and the darkness he called night. So the evening and the morning were the first day” (Genesis 1:3-5).

Since the evening and the morning were the first day, which one begins the day, morning or evening?  God renewed the face of the earth by first forming light, and then divided the light from the darkness, and called first of all the light day, and the darkness he called night. The day therefore, preceded the night and separated the day from the darkness.

On the fourth day of creation, it is stated that God said; “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”, and it was so.

Then God made two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the fourth day” (Genesis 1:14-19).

Again, which one did God form first, the sun, or the moon and stars? The sun was first formed, and then the moon and stars. It is the evening which completes the day, and so the evening and the morning [the two combined] were the fourth day. It is not because evening is first mentioned, that one should make the assumption that, the day begins in the evening. Nature, and substantial evidences reveals otherwise.

A day therefore, begins with the light of day, and ends with the dark of night. The sun which rules the day, is typical to, and represents Jesus Christ who, “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.“… That was the true light which gives light to every man who comes into the world” (John 1: 4,5,9).

The city of the New Jerusalem will have no need of the sun, or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God will illuminate it, and the lamb will be its light.

The day light period from all indications, depicts or is synonymous to life, truth, and a new beginning; while night on the other hand, depicts or is synonymous to death, lies, and every evil way.
Light and darkness, similarly to good and evil, manifested themselves into the world, by two different methods. They emanate from two different sources, that are repulsive to each other.  For thus says the Lord; “I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things” (Isaiah 45:7).

To form something, is to be the founder, or the actual maker of the thing formed. The light which God formed to give light to the world, depicts Jesus Christ, who emanates from the Father, and is the true light, that gives light to every man who comes into the world.
Light, goodness, and prosperity are the works of God’s hand, he actually formed them, and brought them to existence, for it is written; “This is the verdict; light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God” (John 3:19-21).

It is said that, “The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble” (Proverbs 4:18-19).

What must we do to be saved

Christ is our saviorAbout midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”

The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him (the Gospel) and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household  Acts 16:25-34

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, (made right with God) and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:10

Do not commit theft, robbery, stealing or burglary!

The ten countries with the largest population in world are first being China, the second country in the world with most population is India, and United States is the 3rd populated country in the world and Indonesia is the fourth populated country in the world.

According to crime statistics by the world, United States is the first country in the world for highest crime next to United Kingdom. In America, the crime clock continues to click: one murder every 22 minutes, one rape every 5 minutes, one robbery every 49 seconds, and one burglary every 10 seconds. And the cost of crime continues to mount: $78 billion for the criminal justice system, $64 billion for private protection, $202 billion in loss of life and work, $120 billion in crimes against business, $60 billion in stolen goods and fraud, $40 billion from drug abuse, and $110 billion from drunk driving. When you add up all the costs, crime costs Americans a stunning $675 billion each year. Approximately one in every 18 men in the United States is behind bars or being monitored. The United States has the highest documented incarceration rate in the world at 754 persons in prison or jail per 100,000 U.S. residents (as of 2008). In the United States, burglary, robbery, Aggravated Assault rates are highest .Among the largest American cities, Memphis, Tennessee had the highest number of burglaries at 2,183, followed by Detroit, Michigan at 2,064, according to the FBI Uniform Crime Reports.

Stealing is an abomination which says in (Jeremiah 7:9-10). The thieves wait to Commit, under shelter of the night.( Obadiah 1:5, Job 24:14)

God has commanded several times that we must not steal .The commandment “You shall not steal” is in Exodus 20:15. It is repeated in Leviticus 19:11 and Deuteronomy 5:19 and is also commanded  by Jesus in Matthew 19:18, Mark 10:19 and Luke 18:20. In Jeremiah 7:9 and Zechariah 5:3 we are told of God’s displeasure with those who do steal. In Romans 13:9 Paul points out that if we love our neighbour we will not steal. In Ephesians 4:28 he says that those who have been guilty of stealing should repent and change their ways. Gods word say in Isaiah 61:8 “For I, the LORD, love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing.

God says that Thieves shall never inherit the kingdom of God. “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: ….nor thieves…. Will inherit the kingdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Conclusion: God gives warning in Ephesians 4:28 as “Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.”

Overcoming this World

Overcoming this WorldGod is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Psalm 46:1

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.  2 Corinthians 1:3-4

The City Built by God

City Built By GodFor we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, (we die) we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.  2 Corinthians 5:1

I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.  Revelation 21:2

And he (the angel) carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, (diamond) clear as crystal.  Revelation 21:10-11

The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. The city was laid out like a square, (cube) as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia (that is, about 1,400 miles) in length, and as wide and high as it is long. The angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits (that is, about 200 feet) thick. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. (transparent gold) The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone.  Revelation 21:15-19A

Human words can not describe the beauty of our eternal home in Heaven!!!

During the 1975 Boston Marathon, Bill Rodgers was the leader of the race at the 17 mile mark.

In fact, Bill was leading by over 200 yards to the next competitor.

And the news at this point gets even better.

He is 38 seconds ahead of the pace to break the race record.

So, it becomes incomprehensible that Bill Rodgers would decide to stop at 17.6 miles to get a drink. And it would not be the last stop that he would make throughout the race. Every time that his body would require water, he would stop and drink it.

“I know that everyone thinks that I am crazy to stop, but it helps me. If I don’t stop, I can’t drink- it just splashes. I can only get down a couple of gulps each time, so I stop because I need it.”

That was not the only thing Bill Rodgers stopped for. He stopped at the twenty mile marker to take off the gloves that he wore from the start of the race. Oh, and decided to very calmly re-tie his shoes. In terms of competitive marathon running, Bill Rodgers was doing everything possible to lose the race.

By the end, Bill Rodgers had set a Boston Marathon record, ran the fifth fastest marathon of all-time, and beaten the second place finisher by 2 minutes.

What a great story. So, what can we learn from it?

Bill Rodgers stopped. Right smack dab in the middle of one of the biggest races in the world to get refreshment. Can you imagine what people were thinking?

Jesus didn’t wonder what people were thinking when He stopped for some refreshment. In Mark 6:31, Then Jesus said, “ Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and His apostles didn’t even have time to eat. They could not keep up the pace without stopping.

The saying, “If the devil can’t make you bad, he will make you busy”, is very true. But, sometimes our “ life racing” causes us to become distant from God; because we are not getting the proper refreshment we need. The prayer, meditation, and study that keeps us hydrated, fed, and focused on running a winning race in this life.

Bill Rodgers was stopping and refreshing to win a race. Jesus Christ was stopping and refreshing to win lives. May we learn from Jesus and Bill to stop splashing and dashing. Take the time to get refreshed, and live to win!

I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”

Jeremiah 31:25 NIV

The Rock Eternal

The Rock Eternal“As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strengthand keeps my way secure. 2 Samuel 22:31-33.

For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:1-4.

We have a strong city; (the Father’s house in Heaven) God makes salvation its walls and ramparts. Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:1b-4  AMEN!!!
