Children of God

Children of GodHow great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (Jesus)  1 John 3:1

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ (the scriptures) dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.  Colossians 3:12-17

Thanking God for what he has done in your life, gives Him glory!!!

God knows the unborn babies!

Children are a gift from God to parents. In our society millions of unborn babies are murdered in abortion centers. It has become acceptable to kill the unborn, those who are being born, and were just born. Its a tragedy and a heartbreaking situation in our country that many parents consider the children as burden , expensive , rather than blessing and Gods gift.. We have been immensely blessed with one Precious child who is our Life and everything. I always thank God for blessing our life with such a wonderful Godly child.

There are few married couple who can not have kids even after they try to have kids due to some health conditions among them. My heart goes out to these couples and I truly understand their pain and sorrow. This is a different issue but if they have hope in God and pray sincerely at least they might be able to have at least one kid or sometimes they may not have. Here I am not pointing out to such spouses. I am pointing out to those who refuse to have kids because of career, financial stability, ministry etc.

United States Abortion Statistics Says “One baby is aborted every 26 seconds, 137 babies are aborted every hour, 3,304 babies are aborted every day, 23,196 babies are aborted every week, and 100,516 babies are aborted every month”

God says that he knows us even before we were born (Jeremiah 1:5) and he knows us from our Mothers womb as well (Psalm 139:13). The scripture says that children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is His reward (Psalm 127:3-4). The children are capable of worshiping and praising God which says in Matthew 21:15-16: And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, “‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise’?”

Some more Bible verses on this are:

Before I was born the LORD called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name. Isaiah 49:1

“”But he said to me, ‘You will conceive and give birth to a son.’” Judges 13:7

In the womb he took his brother by the heel, and in his maturity he contended with God. Hosea 12:3

But when He who had set me apart, even from my mother’s womb, and called me through His grace, was pleased. Galatians 1:15

When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:41

By aborting unborn babies how many Godly children have been killed in our society which God created for a Purpose? When we walk in Godly path in every area of life, we can avoid many life difficulties. Even though some inevitable troubles might come in our way but we need to be prepared by praying and having faith in God by thanks giving submitting ourselves, by confessing and repenting for our sins and we should humbly surrender our every situations and wait upon the Lord. Please don’t kill your unborn baby. Our choices will impact future generations to come. Wakeup and protect the unborn babies!

Jesus… Sovereign Sustainer and Saviour (John 1:8-13)

He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light. There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

-John 1:8-13

John the Baptist was not the Light. He was not the Messiah and never claimed to be so, but he came into the world to testify concerning the Light who was coming. The true light was not John the Baptist but was Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. And coming into the world the true Light is said to enlighten every man. The meaning of this particular statement is hard to determine. There are many good commentators who have written learned things about this statement. The one which seems most within the context of the passage is this: Verse 4 of John 1 reads: In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. Perhaps it can be concluded through this statement that enlightens every man is equivalent to gives life to all men. He is the one who sustains life for all men, who upholds life for all men, and who provides life for all men. This interpretation seems to be most well aligned with the next verse. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. Without Christ nothing that is made would be made, the entire world was made through Him. Yet, when He came to His own (the world), not even His own Jewish people received Him.

To those who receive Him and believe in His name, the right is given to them to become children of God. Ponder the depth of that statement: children of God. Even though man rebels against the One who sustains him, he is still able to be given the right to be a child of the most high God. The way in which a man is born and becomes a child of God is this: not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. The point here is that man does not become a child of God because he is a descendant of some special man, because he wills it, or because another man should will it. A man is saved because God wills it.

Application

We live in a world which is filled with people who do not know Him. The world we live in abhors God so much that they would rather believe they are descendants of apes than give glory to their Creator. Even more amazing is this: that men blaspheme the very One who sustains them. Just as John starts his gospel by describing the Light who sustains creation, just as Paul opens his gospel proclamation to the men of Athens (Acts 17:25) with an account of creation, so believers would be wise to include creation in their proclamation of the gospel. And if it sounds absurd to it’s audience then it would be good to remember 1 Corinthians 1:18:

“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

Verse 8- John reassures his readers that John the Baptist merely prepared the way.

Verse 9- “enlightens every man” — This is an interesting phrase that is sort of difficult to interpret. The “every man” is likely emphasizing that Christ came not just for the Jew, but also for the Gentile.

Verse 10- John re-emphasizes verse 3. He adds to verse three in saying that even though Christ sustains everything, the world did not recognize Him.

Verse 11- The first “own” refers to the whole world, the second “own” refers to the Jews (this is a bit more clear in the ESV translation).
