System Restore:
Have you ever had a situation where you downloaded a new program or something happen to your computer
where it's acting up? One little process has saved me many hours of head-aches is the use of the "Restore"
feature on your "Windows" version of your computer. Simply follow these instructions:
go to "Start" on the bottom of your computer screen
Go to "Programs" or "All Programs"
Go to "Accessories"
Go to "System Tools"
Go to "System Restore"
Click on the button called "Restore computer to an earlier time"
Select bold date
Click next
It will restart your computer. Chances are that it will fix your problem 90% of the time. In addition, it does not
affect any documents you might have produced and is totally reversible. I also use this feature before I install a
new program...I just choose "Create Restore Point". You'll love it I promise you.

Eliminating Program from "Start-Up"
There are certain software programs that like to start up when windows starts. It can slow down your system a
lot. You can also just check what's loading as well. Here is how you find out:
Click "Start" at the bottom of your computer screen
Click "Run"
Type in "msconfig"
This will bring up a small window
Look for the "Startup" tab
You can un-check any program you would like to eliminate from the start-up (only un-check files you know are
not regular window files). You can check the name of the file...you'll know which are 3rd party programs.
If you make changes to this, it will want to re-start the computer...let it or tell it to do it later.
